It was a cold night, my friends and I where having a party out back in the woods. We was celebrating my birthday. I was turning 21. “Awesome party Meka.” Said my friend Kayla. “Thanks.” I chuckled. “I’m going to get a drink I’ll be right back.” I said Kayla continued to dance to the hard thrashing rock music. As I walked over to get a beer. I herd a noise in the bushes… I looked up. “It’s probably just the wind playing tricks on me.” I said again to my self. “Hey Meka!” A guy yelled. “Holly shit don’t ever scare me like that… JACKSON!” I screamed Ice went everywhere I was really embarrassed. “Wow you okay?” He asked. “Yea I’m perfect now that you’re here… I mean, thanks for coming to my party.” I said. “Glad to have come. So what does it feel like to be the big 21?” He asked. “It feels so awesome. I’m legal.” I said holding up a can of beer. He chuckled. “So… where is your date?” He asked concerned. “Well umm… I just came with friends. I didn’t have one.” I said nervously. “I’m sorry um you want to be my date?” He asked. “Sure.” I smiled. We laced hands. “Ohh look at Meka and Jackson.” Kayla teased as she danced with her date. “So um want to go for a walk?” He asked. “S-sure.” I said. Jackson laced hands with mine, they where cold and we went for a walk in the woods. We was going really far. “Meka, I didn’t really want to go for a walk.” He said out of nowhere. “Then what?” I asked. “I want to give your birthday present early.” He said. “Sure where is it?” I asked. “You really don’t have to unwrap this.” He said leaning in for a kiss. I herd that noise again threw the bushes. I broke my kiss away from Jackson fast. “What’s up?” I asked. “I keep hearing something in the woods.” I said. “It’s probably just a squirrel or something.” He said trying to kiss me again. “You don’t know that… I think we should go see what it is.” I said moving away. “Are you mentally psychotic?” He chuckled. “No do you have no sense of adventure?” I asked raising my right eyebrow up. “Okay.” He said. I smiled and laced hands with his. We followed the noise. We was so far. The noise stopped moving, I opened the bush and I looked up at Jackson. “you where right it was only a squirrel.” I said looking stupid. Jackson folded his arms playfully and smiled at me. “Told you.” He singed. “Whatever lets just get out of here its almost midnight.” I told him. Someone had risen up from the bushes and it was a guy. He looked about like he was my age. He had pale white skin and medium jet black hair. Couple of days later. . . I was in a big hurry going to class well not actually I had to return my paper in before winter break and today was winter break! I had overslept last night. “What time did you go to bed the last night?” She asked. “1am I had to finish that paper for English.” I said trying to tie my shoe and trying not to fall. “you mean that 10 page report?” she asks. “Yea that paper.” I said out of breath. “Well, if Jackson hadn’t came over last night…” She teased. I smiled a bit. “I so totally can’t believe you guys are dating.” Kayla smiles. “Believe it I’m falling in love with him he is simply amazing.” I said smiling. Then I was on my way to English. I was in a big hurry I didn’t even bother trying to catch the bus. I was going so fast I wasn’t paying any attention to where I was going. I ran into someone. Papers flew everywhere. Good thing I didn’t have my laptop in my hand or coffee. “Oh my gosh I am so sorry!” I yelled. “Its okay.” He said. I looked up and I kind of got lost in a trance with him. “you okay?” He asked. “yea…sorry…you look so familiar, Are you in my physics class?” I asked. “No, I’m sort of new here.” He responded. “Oh well if you need some assistance I’m here to help.” I said. “sure thing um… “meka.” I said over him. “I’m Joe… so Ill just catch you later when you’re not in a big hurry.” He said. “Cool… later.” I said walking off. I wasn’t in such a big hurry this time. Awkward. I was at my class… I was trying to turn in my English paper before the professor had left for winter break. “Professor… sorry I’m late.” I said out of breath, pulling a chair up to him. It squeaked a bit.“Quite alright Meka, and call me Jack you’re dating my son now.” He said winking a bit. I smiled. “Right Jack I’m so sorry I’m late, Jackson and I had a thing last night.” I said handing him my paper. I smiled as he skimmed through it. “Meka, how long have you spent on this paper?” He asked. I got nervous, because he sounded upset with it. “Erm for a bout 2 weeks.” I told him. “Best paper I read so far…keep up the good work Meka.” He said. “Thank you professor, I mean Jack.” I laughed. “Have a good winter break Meka, see you in 6 weeks.” He said grabbing his suitcase he left, I walked out behind him then I went the other way.
