Chapter I:
Gotta Find You
New York City

July 2nd, 2009. 5:00 AM at the hotel in New York City.
Nick Jonas was the last one out the door, knowing he had to be at the airport in less then an hour. Carrying just his guitar case, he stepped into the hallway. Nick had been feeling a little jet lagged that day, and it was only a few months into the USA leg of the Jonas Brothers World Tour. Nick broke into a run, trying to catch up to the rest of his family. When he skidded to a stop at the elevator, he noticed a girl his age carrying several suitcases. "Do you need some help?" Nick asked her. The girl looked up, a strand of her long blonde hair falling in her eyes. "Yes, thanks," she smiled. Nick picked up three of her bags, then stopped and looked at her for a moment. "Do I know you from somewhere?" The girl's eyes widened and she said, "Of course. I'm Lilly-- Lilly Roberts. We were neighbors in New Jersey like, nine years ago!" A huge smile crept onto Nick's face. "Ohh, you were the only one who actually noticed me. You always came to my shows on Broadway! But what are you doing here?" Lilly said, "My dad works on your tour. Somehow we've never ran into each other before now." Nick felt like he should hug her, but it seemed a little awkward now. "Wow, you're smiling," Lilly teased. "The teen magazines say you never do that." Nick laughed and nudged her playfully. "You're going there already?"

In the lobby a few minutes later, Joe and Kevin caught up to Nick. "Where were you?" Joe asked. "Our plane leaves in half an hour!" He heavily emphasized the last three words of his sentence. "You spit on my face--" Nick said, wiping his face on his shirt sleeve. "Guys, let's move!" Kevin added bossily from the doorway. "We're on stage in Detroit tonight!" But Nick wasn't listening anymore. He'd spotted Lilly halfway to the door. "Wait," he shouted. Lilly turned around. "I need your phone number!" they both said in unison. Nick realized he was blushing, so he coughed nervously and looked down. Half an hour later, Lilly and Nick were catching up with the past nine years of their lives over the phone.

Chapter II:
Fans and Giving Nick Space
Detroit

Soon, the boys' plane landed in Detroit, Michigan. They were greeted by a few hundred screaming fans outside of their hotel, so they signed some autographs on their way inside. Kevin, Joe and Nick had almost the whole day to themselves. Nick excused himself to his hotel room, saying that he needed to get some rest. He was laying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling when his mother, Denise, knocked on his door. "Come-in!" Nick said loudly. Denise opened the door and smiled. "Are you doing okay, Nick?"
"Of course, Mom," Nick said, sitting up. "I'm just getting ready for tonight's show."
"That's over ten hours away, sweetie."
"I'm aware." Nick layed back against his pillows. Denise looked at him for a moment, as if hoping he would say more, but then decided that he probably just needed some time to himself. After she left the room, Nick let his eyes close. A cool breeze blew in from the open window, caressing his face and stirring his curls. For the first time that morning, all was quiet.

Nick looked up; the midnight blue sky twinkled with stars. Where am I? He was laying on his back on a beach. There was no familiar city lights in the distance, just darkness. It was hard to tell where the ocean ended and the sky began. Nick hesitantly got to his feet and walked towards the ocean. He put his hand in the water and felt the sea spray on his face. There were only gentle waves now and then. It was too quiet...
suddenly there was a cold, harsh wind; Nick shivered. He ran up the beach, against the wind. There was a flash of lightning and Nick tripped and fell to his knees. Rain started to pour down. Nick tried to get up and run but couldn't, terror rooted him to the spot. Tears streamed down his face; he felt too scared and alone to do anything else.
"Nick. Nick! Nick? Hey, Nick!!" ???
